Torres del Río
The route crosses the road to Mués and the river Odrón over the pilgrims' bridge in the direction of the cemetery of Los Arcos, shaded by a row of plane trees. On leaving behind the last houses, the street (unmistakeably called Ruta Jacobea [Pilgrims' Route]) becomes a track that, running parallel to the road to Viana, continues along on flat land. Alongside a small domed hut next to an olive grove, used for keeping tools, the track turns to the right and continues along a path that, although wide, is in poor condition. Along this path you reach a stream surrounded by poplars, which you cross via the Vado bridge to complete this section of the route. After crossing the Vado bridge, the track takes you to the local Sansol-Desojo road, which you will follow in the direction of the former until you reach it.

The route crosses Sansol along the road, reaches the N-111 and instantly picks up the way to Cerrillo. This is a track that crosses the local road to Lazagurria via an underground passageway and comes out at the bridge over the river Linares. It crosses Torres del Río, passing by the pretty octagonal church of the Holy Sepulchre and heads for the cemetery. Along a track in good condition, and in the middle of a tortuous relief of ravines and hills with Mediterranean plants and trees, you approach the main road along a path that is not in the best condition and at times stony. After approaching the road twice, the route crosses it and heads up through a repopulated pine grove to the chapel of El Poyo

From the chapel the path goes down to the main road, instantly crosses it once again and climbs up a dirt track that, after approaching the ruins of the Balsa farmyard, leads us to the road to Bargota. On the other side of this road, the itinerary takes us down into the little Cornava valley, whose watercourse you follow downwards and cross further on. After passing a farmyard (the 'Cornava' animal birthing area) it crosses the main road, taking a short cut to avoid a bend. From here on, the route follows the road along flat land, either on the sides or via paths that avoid it.

The route leaves the road along a path and Viana is now in sight. It carries on along a track, crosses the road and enters this town, crossing it from east to west.If you wish to continue on to Logroño, walk another 10 kilometers and you will reach the capital of La Rioja.
