The extensive network of paths that criss-cross Navarre offer opportunities to discover the region’s varied countryside on horseback.
From north to south and from east to west, there are numerous possibilities. A few examples: the trail at Xorroxin, in the Pyrenees, where there is a waterfall, which will catch unawares and enchant the rider; the tracks that make up the Ruta del Vino (Wine Route) or Dulanz Trail, which begins next to the Iranzu River and leads to a leafy wood of oak and beech trees, all in the central zone; or the ‘Caminos de Ablitas’, on the southern plains, which run through a landscape of olive trees.
Visitors seldom bring their own animals, but if someone wants to do so, one needs to find out in advance since there is no so many tourist infrastructure available for looking after animals (Tudela Resort). However, the majority of horse riding centres offer services which include lodging, cleaning and animal care for a daily fee that ranges between 10 and 20 Euros.
There are many horse riding clubs, which can be contacted by any enthusiast who wants to go on horse rides, take beginners’ and advanced courses, hire equipment or find out about horse riding in Navarre.
